Edificio Resonante es un proyecto que quiere poner de manifiesto el paisaje sonoro del edificio del Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto de Gijón, pero sobre todo pretende hacer audibles gran parte de lo que se podrían llamar “sonidos ocultos”, es decir amplificar las resonancias de los materiales que conforman la arquitectura y estructura del edificio y poner sonido a las radiaciones electromagnéticas emanadas desde los diferentes dispositivos eléctricos y electrónicos que se encuentran en su interior.
Este proyecto planteado desde la práctica artística y la fonografía pretende hacer reflexionar al oyente sobre el carácter continuo del paisaje sonoro y la consecución imparable de eventos sonoros en el interior de un edificio. Entendiendo que el paisaje sonoro es una composición infinita, y asumiendo la imposibilidad de recoger una muestra que contenga todos los elementos del paisaje sonoro, este proyecto quiere mostrar fragmentos de una composición global, pequeños retazos de una realidad sonora que se nos escapa por estar oculta.
Edificio resonante is a project whose intention is to
expose the soundscape of the Centro de Cultura Antiguo
Instituto de Gijón building but, above all, it pretends to
make its hidden sounds audible, amplifying the
resonances of the materials that shape its architecture
and structure and giving sound to the electromagnetic
radiations emanating from the different electric and
electronic devices that can be found in the building.
This project, set from the artistic and phonographic
practice, tries to make the listener reflect on the
continuous character of soundscapes and the
unstoppable sequence of sounds that exist in a
building. Understanding that a soundscape is an infinite
composition and assuming the impossibility of
recording a fragment that includes all of its elements,
this project wants to show small parts of a global
composition; parts of a sound reality that is hidden
and, therefore, escapes us.
